Backpacks are another very popular type of camera bag. They allow the weight to be evenly distributed across your back and shoulders which allow them to be comfortable on long treks. This also allows for a large about of equipment to be carried. Downsides are they can often be difficult to get to your gear, requiring the backpack to be removed for access.
