Review #2

Equipment list in bag :
Bottom:
Nikon D80
Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX
Nikon 50mm f/1.8
Top: misc photo gear and personal items.

I gravitated towards this bag because of features and price. Required features for me were: backpack style, some kind of system to access the camera without fully removing the pack, a rain cover, a top 'day use compartment, a sternum and hip strap (I didn't want one with a huge padded backpacking style hip strap though), and well under 100 dollars. It also has a nice laptop compartment which I don't use, I picked the 467 over the 465 for the less tapered top compartment due to it staying wider to accommodate a laptop.

The top compartment holds a 48 oz. Nalgene water bottle (on it's side, I trust it), a rain jacket, charger, hat, misc. gear (couple tripod quick release plates, wireless remote, compass, pen, lens pen, compass, un-used dividers. I keep memory cards and a blower in the front pockets. Plenty of room left for more lenses and gear. I have the bottom set up in luxury mode because I don`t have much Nikon gear.

I've worn it on several long walks, both all fastened down and slipped on quickly. Seems to fit fairly well and is comfy.

Decent amount of interior pockets. I don't have that much weight in it, and it almost feels better the heavier I make it, which is a good thing. The bottom compartment is cool, and I find it pretty easy after a some practice to remove one strap, swing the pack around on the other and pop out my camera and or a lens without taking it off. Reverse process is smooth to.

I have a Nikon D50 and a Minolta 5D which fit well with roughly the same focal length and aperture range lenses attached. Minolta 70-210 f/4 beer can does not fit upright in the bottom. Anything smaller fits fine.

I would have given it a 9 but I took off a point for a fail in the water bottle holder department (who buys only throw-aways anymore, and heavy objects carelessly placed in the top compartment can push down onto the camera compartment, but nothing serious) and another point for not having more cool pockets in the top compartment, even though to be fair it does have a decent amount.

Likes about the bag:
Raincover, you can access the bottom compartment without fully removing pack, yellow interior, stays upright when set down, price, looks pretty decent without being flashy.

Dislikes about the bag:
Water bottle/monopod holder is a pretty weak effort - nothing on the other side either. A little heavy. I wish there was more pockets in the top compartment but it holds a lot of stuff regardless, hole in the top for headphones wire. Some might see this as a pro.
