Since getting a Nikon D40 I needed a new camera bag. Since then i've gotten a bag for cycling trips, but as a backpack it's too big for more specialist wandering. So I bought a new bag online yesterday for more general work on foot, and it arrived just after lunch today, the Crumpler 210 Daily.

From the outset it seemed far too big to be used merely as a sling bag, but once everything got put inside it proved to be really snug and secure for all my current equipment, successfully managing to include the D40 body and both the 18-55mm kit lens and 55-200mm telephoto, as well as the corresponding hood. Access to the bag is gained through the flap present on many messenger and camera bags alike, opening up into a padded and partitioned interior that can also be removed for added functionality.
The opening flap of the bag contains a pocket ideal for paperwork or manuals due to it's narrow dimensions, while the remaining pockets that this bag puts out can be found on the bottom, with zips opening it up like a Pac-Man jaw. Like the flap pocket these too are pretty thin but are netted like the main compartment of the bag, so they're good for memory cards, eyepieces or batteries, though unfortunately, not big enough for a battery charger and plug or generally anything else.

However, as with all Crumpler daily bags, the 210 is flexible in that it can be used for multiple occasions and scenarios, and thankfully this is the case here as well, with the removable camera interior allowing for the bag to be used for something altogether different, but, you know, that's up to you, though it's definitely a bonus and advantage when it comes to browsing this type of product.

I've yet to use the bag or really wear it in general, all thanks to the piss-poor British "summer", but hopefully i'll be taking it outside in the next day or two for some shoots, depending as well on mood or inspiration. At £70 it's maybe a bit more than what I would've liked to spend on a bag, but the evident quality and construction of the bag put those doubts to rest pretty quickly, as i'm sure the functionality will, over the next couple of months if not years.
