Review #1

Equipment list in bag:

Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 20-40mm f/2.8 EX DG Aspherical + Grip
Canon 430EX Speedlite
50mm f/1.9
Pentacon 135mm f/2.8
Speedlite cap
Accessories

It looks great, doesn't it?

Looks small, but in fact it's slightly larger than my previous one, Canon 10EG.
Kata DC-445 doesn't have those stuffed out side pockets like the Canon has, thus making this one look more compact and not so bulky outside.

Back strap for carrying on travel trolleys.
No belt straps, but I never found those useful.

Inside - only 5 velcro dividers.
One or two, smaller ones would be a great help in sorting out your gear inside.

There's one more con. with the velcros, they can only be attached to designated places - like you see on the photo.
But I've managed to fit all my gear inside right the way I wanted.
So far so good.

A view from the top.
Tiny black velcros that help the dividers keep in place.

Slim side pockets on both sides - one that has net pockets inside.
Not so packy like in the Canon 10EG, but good enough for bits and pieces likes cables, lens caps, optics cleaning cloth, lens pen and a standard writing pen that fit in vertical slots.

Everything in its place, well apart from the camera, as I was taking the picture with it.
Still some place left for one or two small lenses like 30mm and 50mm ones.

And that's how all my photo stuff is being packed inside DC-445.
Camera put to the side, as the battery grip made it difficult to zip it all up.
But this way I've managed to pack everything that I've had in Canon 10EG.

Only the pockets on the main cover are occupied with two CF memory cards. If you put some more stuff in it, they stick out too much towards the camera.
Side pockets do the job to here to keep all other accessories inside them.

Previous DC-445's didn't have the loops reinforced with extra stitching like this one has.
So a problem has been noticed by the manufacturer and fixed up.
If your one has this problem contact your seller or manufacturer - after all you get an unlimited warranty.

This new stitching looks solid, so there shouldn't be a problem in future usage of the bag.

Arm strap clips are simply made of plastic.
Thats a bad one for Kata here, but let us hope it's strong enough and long lasting.
Even so, it wouldn't stop me from buying this bag again.

Both armstrap and a handle are soft and durable.
Armstrap adjustable like in any other bag.
A small loop by the side of a handle for attaching small things, such as a rainproof cover (it comes with DC-445 and fits inside a small pouch).

DC-445's rainproof cover packed inside a small pouch, which has a clip in order to attach the pouch to the main bag.

Rainproof cover.
A standard in DC series, and I guess most Kata bags.
Only once had to use one with Lowepro Nova 5 bag.
Can save your life ;-) well your gear.

It would be better if the cover was in a dark colour, and not so eye catching like this bright yellow.
