I've been looking for a slim messenger style bag since my last acquisition of the Tamrac Adventure Messenger 4, which remains one of my favorites. That bag however is a bit shallow front to back to accommodate the D700. This LowePro does well and can hold at least 2-3 more lenses than I have listed or a lens or two and a strobe or two. It's very well laid out, being longer than it is wide makes it perfect for lens down carry.

I was also looking for a flapless design for access to the camera, which this bag does, being a zippered top.

Likes about the bag:
Pretty much everything, though personally I'd like even less padding.
