Canon 1-EG Professional Gadget Bag

for Canon 300D / 10D / 20D / 30D / 40D / 50D / 5D / 7D

Equipment list in bag : -
A
- Large Rocket Blower & a magnifying glass (lots of room left)
B - Two Lenspens (lots of room left)
C - Canon A710 IS camera & 6AA battery holder that goes w/ the 40D's grip (a little room left)
D - Canon EOS 40D body + Canon Grip + Transporter strap
E - Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM + lens caps + hood (reversed)
F - Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM + lens caps + hood (reversed)
G - Canon 580EX Speedlite II

I - Canon charger + 3 extra BP-511A batteries + Energizer 4AA NiMH/NiCd charger & AC plug (some room left)
J - Roxsen knock-off tripod collar for the EF 70-200 f/4L IS USM + USB camera cable (lots of room left)
K - <empty>
L - 12 AA batteries + 2 extra SanDisk CF cards + Dorcy 2AA LED flashlight (some room left)

What we have here is my Canon 1EG Gadget Bag. Like a lot of bags, it's advertised capacity is overrated. It seems pretty well made though. All the pockets still have some room left in them. Even with the 70-200 f/4L IS USM upright in the bag, I can still zip it shut with no problem. It came with a lot more dividers/partitions (and a shoulder strap) than you see here. My next task will be to redo those dividers so I can store the camera with a lens on it.

Review for Canon EOS 1D & Canon EOS 5D

Review #2

Added 14th January 2011

Equipment list in bag : -
Canon EOS 1D Mark IV + Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EOS 5D MK II + Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
several CF, batteries, etc.

I usually do not like the bags from camera manufacturers, but this 1G Pro is an exception: light, well made, very flexible. I like the wide interior, that thanks to the re-adjustable pads, allow to better configure the bag. As you can see in the picture, I have moved the pads to host the tall 1D with a tele-zoom fitted, and a 5D MkII (without battery grip) with a large 85/1.2. And there is space for another lens like the 24-105 or a 100 macro. And there are 4 pockets to hold accessories, batteries, cleaning tissue, cable, etc.
The top cover has 2 everlasting metal hooks and a zip to protect the content from dust and rain.
The handle on the top is very useful to move the bag. This bag is after-all compact in size, but this shape flat & wide allows an excellent use of the space.
