Review text:
I was not looking for a dedicated camera bag, but something that could hold a
certain number of lenses, a body, flash, camera accessories, as well as a laptop
and other non-camera items, such as books, snacks, etc. This bag satisfies all
of that. Unlike similar camera/laptop/other bags that I researched at the time
like the Orion AW, Orion Trekker I/II, Tamrac Adventure, and the like, I can fit
my 70-200mm f2/8.
The reason is because the non-camera compartment is not entirely on-top of the
camera compartment but rather has room behind as well as above the the camera
compartment. This design, however, does make the bag a bit deep. It sticks out
fairly far, and in confined spaces is awkward at times. The bag is well
constructed as with all Crumpler bags, and I've been in the pouring rain with my
equipment dry as a bone.
I do wish there were external loops or hooks so I could attach a tripod, but as
this is not a dedicated camera bag, there's probably no reason to have one.
Another great aspect that I can do with the bag is to take the camera out of the
bag by just unslinging one shoulder strap and swinging it around to reach the
camera compartment. I don't want to have to take off the bag, put it on the
ground, unzip the bag, take the camera, zip it up, put it back on, then shoot.
Likes about the bag:
Able to hold other items besides camera equipment; holds laptop; comfortable;
isn't immediately recognizable as a camera bag; great design; can fit telephoto
Dislikes about the bag:
no external rings or hooks besides shoulder straps for tripod attachment or
other items; deep - sticks out awkwardly when in confined areas
