Pros:

quality & materials, low-profile classic looks

|
Cons:

price (but incredible durability offsets this a bit.)

I have lugged this bag around europe for over a decade, and it is still going strong. The size of the 445 is nice but when completely filled it will be very heavy... it fits a LOT of stuff. It has enough pockets for small items and paperwork. I also have the G4 15" sleeve and it fits perfectly...a very nice combination.

You Can put too much in it
|

Brilliant bag - I use one with my wedding work and it carries a full digital kit 2 bodies 3 spare lenses 2 flashes and all accessories.
My problem is i put too much in it - the bag survives very well -Its the user that suffers in this case

Great quality and does not look like a real camera bag
|
|
Cons:

It's weighs more than a nylon bags of same size.

I needed a larger bag as a replacement for my crumpler loyal chap And a macbook had to fit in. I like normal shoulder bags but this came with a backpack harness included

Pros:

Good size, functional, time proven design
|
|
Cons:

Detachable straps would be useful

Used one of these for over 20 years, been just about everywhere with it. Originally used to carry RB67s in it. It would take two complete RBs upended, spare backs, extra lens, prism and Polaroid back. Thankfully digital equipment is considerably lighter nowadays. Originally had the nytex version, which just goes on and on. The leather parts have worn more than the fabric. Although not as nice to the touch as the canvas is totally waterproof and lighter. Recently bought a second one, not because I think it is the best thing since sliced bread but simply I still haven’t found an all round bag that is better.

Tough and well made, stylish, well designed

|
Cons:

Nothing aside from weight

I can't improve on what has been said. Mine is 20 years old and still going strong. The only criticism I have is that the padding on the strap breaks up - but hey, it's 20 years old. The slightly improved 445 newer model is even better. Gary, London

Not sure about the grab handles

Probably the ultimate professional bag, at least for the person who is working on their own and doesn’t have a team of assistants to help them carry their gear. I have also used Domke bags for years, but for professional assignment work I still think this is the best. One large main compartment is ideal to keep all the main pieces of equipment you use in to save searching around pockets and compartments, and it’s tall enough if you are using a long lens stored upright or need to leave the flash on your camera. The lack of Velcro saves the embarrassment of causing those awful ripping noises when you are looking for a lens change during a quiet part of a meeting or service. It has just the right amount of padding to provide protection that I often feel is lacking with my Domke without ending up with a bag that is more like a box on a rope. Domke often argue that bags need little padding but at the end of the day I would prefer the extra protection, and leave the argument to those who want to take the chance that their camera in the bag may, or may not have survived that last bump. Not sure about the grab handles, and have removed them from one of my Billinghams completely. However, some people love them, so it’s a matter of preference. They are however easily removed. I have a 445 in black now. It has the advantage that it is quite low profile, and looks more like a travel back when you are carrying it. Although expensive, whatever camera bag you choose is not likely to be cheap, so if this suits your purposes its worth finding the extra money.
