This was my second Kata bag, behind the R103 backpack, and was intended to be my daily bag. I thought it could carry my 30D with a lens, perhaps one more lens and flash, plus an assortment of goodies (CF cards, batteries, etc). It turns out that if you're willing to put in a little time in creating the dividers (using a Mod-vers kit), you can get much more in than that. I had (really!) my 30D with 24-105, plus my 70-200/4 and 17-40/4, plus my 430EX and my 1.4x and extension tubes - just in the main compartment. In the side pockets I'd carry 2-4 batteries, QR plates, Sto-Fen omni-bounce, rain cover. Then in the back pocket, I had my filter holder and a manual or two. For the size, which is fairly compact, I could fit a TON of gear in here.
I gotta admit I really like camera bags, and Kata is at the top of my list. Along with the C59 and R103, I've got a 604 shoulder case. I love the TST protection and the mod-vers dividers. Plus, they are stylish and don't scream "I got a camera in here!" to passersby. On top of everything else, they are very reasonably priced.
My only gripe is I couldn't get my 30D mounted with the 70-200/4 in the bag and get it closed. So Kata, add 1" to the height!
Great bag - great manufacturer.
