Description: Includes Y515 shoulder strap (not shown) & A257 Body Pouch.

* For 300/2.8 with hood in shooting position + teleconverter + an SLR body.
* For 500/4 or 200-400/4 lens with hood reversed with body attached and hood reversed.
* For a tighter fittng case, consider the E980

NOTICE: Please note that although this case is a smaller diameter than the L321/L521 PolyCore-series models, we have had a number of complaints because 200-400s, 500/4s are getting "lost" in this case. We strongly advise purchasing the L029 Foam Insert (which reduces the diameter near the front element) or consider the E980 case instead.

* Compact soft side case (as opposed to the semi-rigid side-walls of our PolyCore cases). This case offers similar protection to other long lens cases made by Lowepro, Tenba, Lightware etc. The side walls utilizes 12mm closed cell foam, the lid uses 10mm foam and the base has 13mm rigid PolyCore

* For 500/4 or Nikon 200-400/4 lens with hood reversed (with leatherette lens cover) with body attached.
* External pouch attachment options:
- One A257 or E330 can be attached in the lower center of the case. Another similar double-wide pouch can be attached off center on the upper part of the case.
- A single-wide pouch (E180, E280 etc.) can be attached to either side of the case, covering the collaspable pockets.
- A double-wide pouch (A257, E330 etc.) can attached to the back or flat part of the case, although this disables use of any backpack harness or may make using a shoulder strap awkward.
- Tripod use on L311 & L511s: Remove the A257 center pouch (shown in photo above) and replace it with a T164 or T317 pouch for attaching a tripod (see this page for pix). Attach a Y204 to the top of the case to hold the top part of the tripod. The A257 can then be reattached to the upper part of the case, slightly off center.

Field report -- The following combination will fit inside this case (9/05): Nikon 600/4 AF-S with the larger diameter hood piece removed and with a Moose Peterson lens cap & Kirk low-profile tripod foot.
