Pros: lots or room, easy access, easy to carry
Cons:

This is my favorite bag! it can carry all my gear (70-200 2.8, 28-105 3.5-4.5, 50 1.8, 18-55, 350d with grip, and more!) build quility is great... very comfortable and similar to a backpack... easy to swing to the front for access... my only gripe so far is that I haven't found a way to fit in a 70-200 attached to my camera... will still need to try other configurations... Pros: Very quick access to all your gear. Easy lens changes.
Cons: No sideways carrying handle.

This bag is by far the most useful thing I added to my equipment for a long time. So far I had a bag that fitted a dSLR plus one big lens or I used a rucksack that had space for more stuff like tele lens, macro lens, flash etc.
With the slingshot I can carry my entire field equipment without shoulder aches. Sliding it upfront is the perfect way to work - whip out the camera (lens caps, filters etc just drop into the compartment below) take your picture, put the cam back, zip it up and off you go to the next picture opportunity. I have never been able to react so fast to my surroundings. Even lens changes are quicker; when the bag is in front of me, it forms a work platform where I can rest things (e.g. while changing lenses).
I fit in it : Canon 300D, EF 24-105 f4L, EF-S 10-22, EF 70-200 f4L plus their respective lens hoods and the EF-S 60 macro when I feel I might need it. When the macro stays at home I fit the 550 EX flash in it.
Opened sideways, the lenses 'stand up' in the bag (not like the picture on the instruction card), which makes it easier to change lenses with the bag slid in front of me.
While the 70-200 f4L is on the camera I cannot zip up the bag, but the other two lenses can stay on the camera when everything is closed.
In the shop I tried the monster-big 70-200 f2.8L IS, but it would not fit properly. For this and longer big telephoto lenses this bag is too small.

I only miss one thing : a carrying handle for when the bag is on its side. As all my gear is packed to be retrieved that way, I want to keep it in that orientation when it sits in the car or on the plane. That's why only 9/10.

Overall it is a perfect "quick shooter's" cam bag, which comes highly recommended.

Pros: Size, Form, Fit and Function Ergonomics, Quality of materials and workmanship,
Cons: Strap has to be worn over the left shoulder, not ambidextrious.

The biggest strength is the design of this bag, I was looking for something that would hold a camera body with a 70-300mm zoom lens attached along with 2 spare lenses, my battery charger and cables, a flash and a few filters and still have a little room for a peanut butter sandwitch or a P&S camera. With that list of what I needed to put in the bag I was pretty much limited to the traditional shoulder bag or a backpack. I wanted something that would hug my body like a back so I could take my gear hiking, biking or lift my 3 year old into her stroller whithout the camera bag flopping around at my side, but I also wanted something that I could have in front of me to change lenses without the hassle of taking a backpack off and putting it on the ground or balancing it on a knee. The slingshot does all this, it fits like a backpack with the convenience of a shoulder bag, I can get at all my gear without taking the pack off my shoulder and it is comfortable enough to carry all day long. The slingshot has LowePro's expected quality, with all the nice features LowePro advertises, I've yet to use the All Weather cover, but it looks looks like it would do the job should I get caught out in a storm, the lens cloth to protect the LCD screen on digital SLRs is a nice touch, but it does get in the way a little bit if you've got a neck strap attatched to the camera body. The pack is not ambidextrious, it must be worn over the left shoulder, which doesn't bother me too much it's the shoulder I'd prefer to carry the bag on, but after carrying it for an entire day it would be nice to be able to switch off to the other shoulder.

I had a tough time finding this bag, apparently they were backordered before christmas, but it seems that they've hit the shelves now. If you are like me and think that you'd prefer a compromise between a backpack and a shoulder bag get the slingshot and you won't be dissapointed.

Pros: Compact size, quick, secure access to your gear.
Cons: Easily overloaded

For outings requiring limited gear and quick, on-the-fly access, this is an excellent bag. With one DSLR, a couple of lenses, and small accessories it's perfect. Load it up with more, and the limitations of the design are revealed.

I've used this bag at all-day events, on shorter hikes, general tourist outings, and most telling, on a zipline tour. The ease of access to the gear is great--the trick being to rotate the dividers so the wells all point to the side door, not how they come from the factory. On the zipline tour, this was undoubtedly the perfect bag to use, allowing secure lens changes 300' up in a jungle canopy without worry of dropping expensive gear on a fatal fall.

I've found for best comfort you need to keep the strap fairly short so the bag rides high enough on your back--there is a temptation to lengthen it too much. Also, make use of the stabilizer strap, it makes a difference in long-term comfort.

As others have mentioned the 70-200 will not fit mounted--it will fit unmounted however, my f2.8 non IS regularly rides in the bag. If you need that size tele zoom mounted, look to the SS300.

Pros: Quick side access to camera; built-in rain cover
Cons: Uncomfortable with the gear I carry. Not easy to tuch away the waist belt.

Equipment list in bag : Canon 40D
28-135 lens
17-35 lens
580exII flash
2 lens hoods
a few cables
extra set of AA batteries
Extra CF cards
Lenspen
micro cloth
I returned the bag. With the equipment I list, I felt the bag was way too heavy for a slingshot. Too much weight on one strap. I returned it for a photo backpack which I find much more comfortable. I really liked the quick side access design. The slingshot would work better for me if I just took less gear, but not as a main bag with the gear I listed.
